Recycling and Waste Management 

RDI is committed to reducing the amount of materials that goes into the waste stream from our projects. At the heart of the effort is our project manager, Elizabeth Markstahler. Elizabeth was one of the three founders of the former CRC (the Community Recycling Center) and was the Operations Manager for CRC for over ten years. She brings that wealth of skills and ecological ethic to RDI’s efforts.

RDI’s pledge to you that our routine practices during renovation and remodeling projects are:
    • Recycle all scrap metals
    • Recycle as much as is feasible fiberglass batt insulation
    • Recycle as much as is feasible salvaged lumber
    • Recycle as much as is feasible all glass, cardboard and plastics
    • Donate to either PACA (Preservation and Conservation Association) or Habitat resale store all appropriate salvaged materials including –
         • Doors
         • Windows
         • Brick
         • Trim
         • Cabinets
         • Hardware
         • Light fixtures
         • Plumbing fixtures
         • Hardwood flooring
         • Décor items
